As we celebrate Nurses Week, I am reflecting on the CONL Board of Directors retreat that was held a few weeks ago and this incredible group of nurse leaders who work together to represent the voice of all nurses and drive healthcare practice across Colorado. Each of them demonstrates a deep commitment to advocating for and supporting their fellow nurses. What a testament to the practice of nursing.
You are all an inspiration in how to lead a team towards greatness through compassion, empathy, and humble expertise. Your support and recognition of your nursing teams is important in fostering an environment of change, allowing nurses to thrive in their practice.
Please take your own moment of reflection to consider who inspires you to lead better. Perhaps it's your own leader, a mentor, or your nursing team.
Take a moment to care for yourself, take a deep breath, practice mindfulness. Consider those you inspire every day to be a better nurse.
Jean Watson said, "Maybe this one moment, with this one person, is the very reason we're here on Earth at this time." What a profound statement.
You are changing and influencing lives every day. Thank you for your dedication to the nursing practice. Let's celebrate the nurses who paved our way and embrace new opportunities to drive positive healthcare change.
