Nursing Leadership Development Thought Leader, Highly Rated Virtual Workshop Presenter, Nationally Known Speaker, Writer, and Coach
Rose Sherman is a nationally recognized thought leader and keynote speaker on nursing and healthcare leadership issues. She is also a leadership development expert who works with health systems and professional organizations nationally to develop and coach current and future leaders. Her current work includes highly rated and interactive virtual workshops for AORN, ANA, AACN, VHA, and large health systems. Rose serves as Editor in Chief of Nurse Leader, the official journal of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She is an Emeritus Professor at Florida Atlantic University and a faculty member in the Marian K. Shaughnessy Leadership Academy at Case Western Reserve University. Rose writes a very popular blog twice a week, www.emergingrnleader.com, and is the author of The Nurse Leader Coach: Become the Boss No One Wants to Leave, The Nuts and Bolts of Nursing Leadership: Your Toolkit for Success and the newest book, A Team Approach to Nursing Care Delivery: Tactics for Working Better Together. Forensic Nurse Coordinator; Tanzania Mission Project Director
Bethany Bernal has strengthened and expanded the Forensic Nurse Program (FNE) at Mercy Hospital for 10 years, which is evidence by the 500% increase in cases. 60% of these cases are native American survivors which is the highest representation within the CommonSpirit Mountain Region. She enjoys being a part of statewide policy change and was instrumental in initiating and testifying to HB22-1309 which was passed in July 2022. This new law allows Emergency Departments to dispense a 7 day supply of antibiotics and 28 days of HIV prophylaxis to survivors of sexual assault. One of her biggest passions is traveling to Tanzania annually for the Helping Babies Breathe Project (HBB) and Helping Mothers Survive (HMS)/ Bleeding after birth Complete and worked alongside of the labor and delivery doctors and nurses in Dareda Tanzania at a Catholic hospital. This spring she was recognized by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center as Colorado's Visionary Voice Award, Southwest Colorado Nursing Excellence Award: Research and Quality Improvement and Healthcare Policy2024 Colorado Nightingale Award for Exceptional Achievement by a Registered Nurse in Community Nursing.
Associate Chief Nursing Officer
Sara Dembeck has been a nurse for 30 years with a focus and passion for leadership, professional development, wellbeing, and creating a positive culture. She currently is the Associate Chief Nurse Officer at Vail Health. As the Vail Health senior leader sponsor of the Wellbeing Committee and Health Equity & DEIB Committee at Vail Health, she has assisted in creating and implementing strategies to enhance the work environment for healthcare team members.

Stephanie is a leader in the McKinsey healthcare practice where she focuses her work on serving healthcare systems and providers across the world on topics related to the nursing workforce and clinical operations. Stephanie led McKinsey's collaboration with the American Nurses Foundation focused on publishing findings from workforce surveys on topics related to nursing work environments. Before joining McKinsey Stephanie had nearly 10 years of operational leadership and nursing experience at Children's Hospital Colorado, where she first joined CONL!
Chief Nursing Officer
Noreen Bernard, EdD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN is the current Chief Nursing Officer for UCHealth’s Longs Peak Hospital and Broomfield Hospital in Colorado. She is adjoint faculty at University of Colorado and a doctoral program content expert at Grand Canyon University. Dr. Bernard has over 27 years of executive leadership experience, with an emphasis on clinical operations, nursing professional practice, professional development, and organizational/leadership development. Dr. Bernard earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing at the University of Northern Colorado, her Master of Science in nursing administration at the University of Colorado, and her Doctor of Education in organizational leadership and organization development from Grand Canyon University. She is Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certified and a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.
