The Colorado Organization of Nurse Leaders (CONL) is proud to honor outstanding nurse leaders whose contributions, character, and commitment to the profession inspire excellence and shape the future of healthcare.

We invite you to thoughtfully recognize and celebrate a remarkable nursing leader by submitting a nomination for the 2025 CONL Nurse Leaders Awards. Whether a seasoned leader or an emerging force in the profession, each nominee represents the best of what it means to lead with integrity, innovation, and compassion.

  

We encourage you to tell the story of your nominee with clarity, authenticity, and heart.

Help us honor those who lead with courage, elevate the profession, and inspire future generations of nurses.

Before You Begin:

• Do not include the nominee’s name in narrative responses—refer to them as "the NOMINEE."

• Provide specific examples and stories that highlight impact—consider feedback from peers, physicians, patients, and staff.

• Include quantitative data, when possible, to support your nomination.

• Ensure each question is answered completely and thoughtfully.

Categories:

• Exemplary Leader (5+ Years): A clinical nurse in a formal administrative/leadership position with 5+ years of experience who has significantly influenced nursing practice, leadership, and the community.

• Emerging Leader (Less than 5 Years): A clinical nurse in a formal or informal leadership role with less than 5 years of experience who has demonstrated exceptional leadership within their team, organization, or profession.

• Exemplary Leader (5+ Years)

• Provide a brief overview of the nominee’s professional journey (e.g., education, clinical experience, leadership roles).

• Share examples of how this nominee has positively impacted professional nursing practice. Use stories, data, or testimonials that reflect their influence. Consider their innovations, team impact, or patient outcomes.

• Describe the nominee’s commitment to ongoing professional development, including participation in professional organizations (e.g., ANCC, AONL, CONL) and certifications.

• Provide a compelling example of how this nominee has demonstrated extraordinary leadership or potential as an inspiring leader or mentor in elevating nursing practice or mentoring others.

• Is there anything else you'd like the selection committee to know about this nominee? Feel free to share personal anecdotes, visionary contributions, or community impact.
